About the Establishment of Police Boxes

In the Minamiyama area, due to the increase in housing and residents as well as the rise in tourists from outside caused by Giants Town, could you please consider establishing a police box?
While starting to educate children about crime prevention, we want to tell them to go to the police box if they encounter anything scary or troubling. However, the Momura police station is too far for children to walk, and we also feel that it is difficult to explain its location.

 

Response

Regarding the new establishment of a police box in the Minamiyama area, with the birth of TOKYO GIANTS TOWN within the Minamiyama East Land Readjustment Project area and the opening of traffic on Tama Route 3·4·16 Inagi Minami-Tama Line, an increase in road traffic from Inagi Station toward Yomiuriland is expected. Additionally, with the opening of Giants Town Stadium and the planned opening of a new hub including an aquarium and dining facilities in 2027, an increase in foot traffic from Inagi Station on the Keio Sagamihara Line is also anticipated. For these reasons, we are requesting the establishment of a police box in front of Inagi Station.
For more than ten years, we have visited the Tama Central Police Station annually to make direct requests to the chief, and most recently, we made a request again in January of Reiwa 7.
We will continue to make requests to the Tama Central Police Station in the future.
