Regarding the new bus stop near the "Tree of Hope" sculpture at the south exit of Inagi Station

Regarding the newly established bus stop near the "Tree of Hope" sculpture at the south exit of Inagi Station, we would like you to reconsider it for the following reasons.
1. The newly established bus stop has resulted in the loss of the previous parking space for general vehicles, causing inconvenience for station users when picking up or dropping off passengers.
2. We believe that there are already a sufficient number of bus stops installed in the area, and the need for new ones is low.
3. As an alternative, there is still vacant space opposite the "Music Classroom" on the north side of the station. If an additional bus stop is needed, could you please consider utilizing that space?

We would like you to consider restoring the space where general vehicles can stop, as before, taking into account the convenience of local residents and the balance with public transportation.

Response

Regarding the plaza in front of the south exit of Inagi Station, we have been carrying out improvements in consultation with the Metropolitan Police Department, the traffic management authority, on the arrangement of bus stops and other matters, taking into account the urban infrastructure development of the Minamiyama East Land Readjustment Project currently underway and the surrounding community development such as the "TOKYO GIANTS TOWN" concept.
In developing this, we aim to respond to the expansion of community buses (i-Bus) and route buses by increasing boarding and waiting areas for buses and taxis. We also strive to improve the safety and convenience for station users and citizens. Improvement work began in fiscal year 2024, and this year, we plan to complete construction by upgrading bus stop shelters and sidewalks.
Due to the construction in fiscal year 2024, the previously existing boarding and alighting area for persons with disabilities has been relocated between the newly established bus stop and the taxi boarding area, and is now available for use by general vehicles as well. We hope you will make use of it.
