Regarding the Reduction of Waiting Time at Inagi Chuo Bridge Traffic Signal
The waiting time at the traffic signal heading from Koyodai towards Inagi Station is long at 75 seconds, so we would like it shortened to 60 seconds.
Response
Regarding the request to shorten the signal waiting time, this intersection received a similar request last year, and the city has made a formal appeal to the Metropolitan Police Department, which manages and operates the traffic signals.
Upon receiving this request, the Tama Central Police Station and the Traffic Control Division conducted an on-site survey and changed the signal waiting time from 85 seconds to 70 seconds in the direction from Koyodai to Inagi Station. As a result, the traffic flow on Tsurukawa Kaido improved, congestion at surrounding intersections was resolved, and the signal waiting time was also shortened.
Also, if the signal waiting time at this intersection is further reduced to within 60 seconds, since the traffic volume on Tsurukawa Kaido is higher than that on Koyodai Park Street, it is expected to affect the flow on Tsurukawa Kaido. Therefore, considering the flow of all traffic at this intersection, the decision was made not to make any changes.
