About the air conditioning of the Comprehensive Gymnasium (cooling and heating)
We use the Comprehensive Gymnasium about three days a week.
Due to climate change in recent years, even though it has already become a summer day in May this year, it seems that air conditioning will not be turned on until June.
Some areas have air conditioning, but the gym and recreation room do not, making it hot and causing concern about when someone might collapse from heatstroke.
Please make it usable based on temperature, not from June.
Response
After confirming with the designated manager, it was as you pointed out: air conditioning was operated as needed in May in the main arena and wellness arena, where air conditioning can be used in each room. On the other hand, air conditioning in the training gym and recreation room is scheduled to be operated from June onwards.
Due to the impact of climate change, there have been days in May when temperatures exceed 30°C. From the perspective of preventing heatstroke accidents during sports activities, we will consult with the designated managers and review operations to enable flexible use of air conditioning according to the temperature.
Currently, air conditioning equipment failures due to aging have been confirmed, and cooling cannot be used in the training gym, recreation room, and other areas. We are working on repairs, and the repair schedule will be posted on the city and park sports facility websites as soon as details are available. Additionally, cooling devices will be gradually introduced in rooms where air conditioning cannot be used, but please take care to manage your health by staying hydrated as needed while using the facilities.
