Measures to Alleviate Congestion Around the Station

It has been officially announced that a Pokémon Park will be established at Yomiuriland.
After the opening, it seems that many people will visit by train, so we expect more congestion at the station and surrounding areas than before.
Are there any plans for measures regarding this?

Response

Considering the status of community development around the area, such as the opening of Poke Park by Yomiuriland and the "TOKYO GIANTS TOWN" concept, as a traffic measure, improvement work is planned to be carried out at the south exit station square of Keio Yomiuriland Station, which serves as the main public transportation gateway for Yomiuriland and others, with the aim of enhancing the safety and convenience of visitors and station users in the future.
In this improvement project, we are advancing considerations in collaboration with the Yomiuri Group, taking into account the expansion of shuttle bus operations to various facilities related to Yomiuriland.
In addition, as a measure against traffic congestion, the city has requested business operators to develop parking lots. Regarding the improvement of surrounding roads, the Tama 3, 4, and 16 Inagi-Minami-Tama Line, which passes in front of Inagi Station and serves as a route to Yomiuriland, is already open. Furthermore, the Tama 7, 4, and 5 Higashi-Naganuma Yanokuchi Line, connecting Inagi Bridge to the Tama 3, 4, and 12 Yomiuriland Line, is scheduled to open by the end of fiscal year 2025. As a result, vehicle traffic is expected to be dispersed, alleviating the concentration of vehicles around Keio Yomiuriland Station.
