Frequently Asked Questions (Consultation)
QuestionPlease tell me about cooling-off periods.
Response
There is a "cooling-off system" that allows you to cancel contracts for products and services made through specific transaction methods such as door-to-door sales, telephone solicitation sales, chain sales transactions, and door-to-door purchases, without any reason within a certain period of time if you wish to cancel.
Cooling-off must be done in writing. Fill out the necessary information on a postcard and send it to the representative of the sales company and the credit company (if you have a credit contract) via registered mail or simplified registered mail.
Please make a copy of both the front and back of the postcard and keep it as evidence along with the receipt from the post office.
In addition, even if the cooling-off period has passed (8 days including the contract date for door-to-door sales, and 20 days including the contract date for multi-level marketing), please do not hesitate to consult us (there may be cases where cooling-off is not possible depending on the conditions of the above sales or transaction methods).
For more details, please contact the Inagi City Consumer Affairs Center (Consultation Phone: 042-378-3738).
The necessary information to be filled in on the back of the postcard is as follows.
