Confirmation of Cooperation

Purpose

In light of the expected further increase in the number of foreign nationals with specified skills, it is the responsibility of the specified skill organizations to contribute to the realization of a society where foreigners coexist in the region. Additionally, support for foreign nationals with specified skills of type 1 should be provided based on initiatives related to coexistence with local foreigners, as stated in the "Basic Policy on the Operation of the System Related to the Residence Status of Specified Skills" (Cabinet decision on December 25, 2018, partially amended on March 29, 2024).

In light of this, part of the Ministerial Ordinance on Specific Skills Standards has been amended, and specific skill organizations are required to cooperate when requested by local governments to implement measures for the realization of a symbiotic society (hereinafter referred to as "symbiotic measures"). It is also stipulated that when creating and implementing support plans for specific skill foreign workers of type 1, they must take into account the symbiotic measures implemented by local governments.
