Starting from April 1, 2022! New law regarding "plastic"
About the Recycling of Plastic Waste
To promote initiatives on plastic resource circulation (3R+Renewable) involving citizens, City Administration, and Business Operators from product design to plastic waste disposal, the "Act on Promotion of Resource Circulation Related to Plastics" came into effect on April 1, 2022. Municipalities are obligated to make efforts to separately collect plastics.
Currently, plastic waste generated from general households in Inagi City is collected as combustible or non-combustible garbage, incinerated at the Clean Center Tamagawa, and the heat generated is used for power generation and other heat recovery. However, going forward, preparations are being made to separate plastics suitable for recycling from combustible and non-combustible garbage and to promote recycling.

The Act on Promotion of Resource Circulation Related to Plastics will come into effect on April 1, 2022
Law Concerning the Promotion of Resource Circulation Related to Plastics
Regarding plastic waste, the importance of further promoting the resource circulation of plastics in Japan is increasing, triggered by issues such as marine plastic waste, climate change, and the strengthening of waste import regulations in various countries. It is necessary to comprehensively strengthen the resource circulation system for plastics used in various products. Therefore, the "Law on the Promotion of Resource Circulation Related to Plastics" has been enacted and will be enforced from April 1, 2022.
