Small electronic devices such as digital cameras and game consoles use precious metals like rare metals.
As part of a new recycling initiative, the city has installed dedicated collection boxes at 11 locations, including City Hall, the Cultural Center, and electronics retailers, to collect nine types of used small electronic devices.
You can drop off used small electronic devices in the box during the opening hours of each facility, so please make use of this service if you have any at home.

  • Note: If it contains personal information, please be sure to erase the data beforehand.
  • Note: Once items are placed in the collection box, they cannot be retrieved.
  • Note: Please remove from the box or bag and place only the applicable small electronic devices into the box.
  • Note: Please remove the dry batteries and put them out on the hazardous waste collection day.
  • Note: Small electronic devices that cannot remove rechargeable batteries, such as electric shavers, electric toothbrushes, and mobile batteries, should be placed in the small home appliance collection box or disposed of on hazardous waste days.

What about the collected small electronic devices?

Recycling operators certified by the Ministry of the Environment transport materials to domestic recycling plants, where they are disassembled, crushed, and sorted. This allows for the recycling of valuable metal resources such as rare metals, and also contributes to the reduction of non-burnable waste.

Collection Results

The amount of used small electronic devices collected from the box is as follows.
We appreciate your continued cooperation in recycling small electronic devices.
