Partial Revision of Inagi City Fire Prevention Ordinance

Rapid Charging Equipment

In recent years, with the increase in demand for electric vehicles, there has been a growing need for high-output rapid charging facilities. In addition to the "integrated type" rapid charging facilities that combine the equipment body with the cable and other components, there have been examples of "separated type" installations consisting of charging posts that house the equipment body and cables.
In response to this, the Fire and Disaster Management Agency of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications conducted a review, resulting in the revision of the ministerial ordinance that establishes standards for the enactment of regulations concerning the location, structure, and management of targeted fire equipment, as well as the handling of targeted fire appliances, including the removal of the upper limit on total output and the new specification of "separate type." Accordingly, a part of the Inagi City Fire Prevention Ordinance has also been revised.

Storage Battery Equipment

The current regulations for storage battery facilities are primarily based on open-type lead-acid batteries. Recently, the Fire and Disaster Management Agency of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications has conducted a study on fire safety measures corresponding to the risks of storage battery facilities. In response to the diversification of storage battery facilities and the increase in battery capacity, safety standards have been established to address these changes. Consequently, the "Ministerial Ordinance on Establishing Standards for the Ordinance on the Location, Structure, and Management of Target Fire Hazard Equipment" and the "Fire Prevention Ordinance (Example)" have been revised, leading to partial amendments to the Inagi City Fire Prevention Ordinance and others.
