  • People who have moved to Inagi City from other cities and towns
  • Those who have moved to Inagi City from abroad (generally those who will stay in Japan for more than one year)

A notification of transfer is required.
Note: You cannot register as a resident for short-term stays when moving in from overseas..

The procedure for moving in takes time. If you complete the procedure just before the reception hours end, it may not be completed on the same day. Please submit your moving-in notification by 4 PM.

Please contact the relevant department in advance for more details.

Notification Period

Within 14 days from the day you started living

Place of Notification

  • Citizen Affairs Division, 1st Floor, City Hall
  • Hirao Branch Office
  • Wakabadai Branch Office (i Plaza 1st Floor)

Note: Changes to the resident registration of households including foreign residents cannot be processed at the Branch Office. Please visit the Citizen Affairs Division on the first floor of City Hall.

Notifier

  • Individual
  • Those who will be in the same household as the person in Inagi City
  • Agent other than the above (Power of attorney is required)

Note: Please prepare a power of attorney that is signed or stamped by the person themselves.

Required Items for Notification

Transfer from within the country

  1. Certificate of Moving Out (Issued by the municipal office of the previous address. Not required for those who submitted a moving-out notification using the My Number Card or the Basic Resident Registration Card.)
  2. Identification documents of the notifier
  3. My Number Card for All New Residents (Only for those who have it)
  4. the Basic Resident Registration Card (for those who have it only)
  5. Residence Card, Special Permanent Resident Certificate, etc. (For all foreign residents who are moving)
  • Note: The My Number Card requires procedures for address changes and other matters. Please check the page "Changes to the My Number Card (Individual Number Card) Details and Continued Use (Address Changes, etc.)" for necessary items and procedures.
  • Note: For the procedure to change the address on the Basic Resident Registration Card, please check the page for "Continued Use of the Basic Resident Registration Card."

Transfer from abroad (Overseas transfer)

  1. Passport (for all movers with a stamp of the date of entry)
  2. Family Register and Attached List of Family Register (This includes all Japanese individuals who have moved.)
  3. My Number Card for all individuals moving in (only for those who have one)
  4. Residence Card, Special Permanent Resident Certificate, etc. (For all foreign residents who are moving)
  5. Documents proving the relationship with the head of the household (for all foreign residents who are moving)
    Examples of documents to prove relationship: Original documents issued by national agencies such as birth certificates, marriage certificates, etc. (with translation)
  • Note: If you entered the country without a stamp on your passport and used the automated gate, please bring along the half of your airline ticket that shows the entry date or your luggage tag.
  • Note: If you have used your My Number Card overseas, you need to complete procedures such as address changes. Please check the page below for the necessary items and procedures.

Required only if applicable

  • Health Insurance Card of the household at the new address
  • Late-Stage Elderly Medical Care Health Insurance Card
  • National Pension Handbook (For Subscribers Only)
  • Long-Term Care Insurance Eligibility Certificate
  • Disability Certificate, etc.

The necessary items and procedures, such as a seal, vary by individual.

Note: On holiday opening days, the hours are from 8:30 AM to 11:45 AM and from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM
Notice: The City Hall is the only place open on holidays.

Special Provisions for Moving-In Notification (For those who have a My Number Card or the Basic Resident Registration Card)

Those who have submitted a notification of transfer using the My Number Card (Individual Number Card) or the Basic Resident Registration Card will be eligible for special provisions for the notification of transfer-in. For more details, please check the page below.
