You can benefit your life by purchasing tobacco within the city

The tobacco tax is included in the retail price of tobacco (Municipal Tax, Prefectural Tax, National Tax). The municipal tobacco tax serves as a valuable financial resource for the city to implement policies when tobacco is purchased within the city, benefiting everyone's lives. When purchasing tobacco, we kindly ask you to buy it within the city.

Note: Due to tax reform, the special tax rate for the old Class 3 paper cigarettes (Wakaba, Echo, Golden Bat, Ulma, Violet, Shinsei) will be gradually abolished, and the tax rate after October 1, 2019, will be the same as that for products other than the old Class 3.

How to Pay

Wholesalers and other sellers must report and pay the tax amount related to the tobacco sold for one month to the municipality by the end of the following month.
