Formulation of Inagi City Resilience Regional Plan

Our country experienced an unprecedented disaster during the Great East Japan Earthquake, raising questions about the current state of disaster prevention and mitigation measures.
From this point forward, the concept of "national resilience" to prepare for large-scale natural disasters has spread through comprehensive responses, including land and industrial policies. Additionally, in December 2013, the Basic Act on National Resilience was established to promote disaster prevention and mitigation, creating a framework for strengthening resilience across the country.
In our city, we have been promoting disaster prevention and mitigation measures based on the "Inagi City Regional Disaster Prevention Plan" and others. However, due to the impacts of climate change, there has been an increase in landslides and wind and flood damage caused by heavy rainfall in recent years. Additionally, there are concerns about the occurrence of major earthquakes such as the Tama Fault Earthquake. Therefore, we will formulate the "Inagi City National Resilience Regional Plan" and advance strong, flexible, and sustainable Community Development.
This plan will be positioned as a guideline for specific initiatives related to national resilience in our city, while maintaining harmony with the "Fifth Long-Term Comprehensive Plan of Inagi City" and ensuring consistency with various plans of the national government, Tokyo Metropolitan Government, and Inagi City.
