Our Town Inagi 2018: Misato Ogihara
The stage for activity is the world - Inline Skating and Freestyle
Ogihara from Inagi Dai 1 Elementary School's 6th grade participated in the "Shanghai Slalom Open" (August 2017), a world tournament. Participants from various countries competed to determine the world number one in each category.
Ms. Ogihara was the only elementary school student to participate in the junior girls' classic slalom.
Inline skating is a very popular roller sport in Europe, America, and China. There are aggressive competitions that involve jumps, speed competitions, as well as dance and hockey. Mr. Ogihara is challenging the "Freestyle Classic." He sets up mini pylons and skates between them to music. There are various types of techniques, categorized into sit (crouching) types and jump types, with higher scores awarded for more difficult techniques.
"I want to skate like Mao Asada!" At that time, 6-year-old Ogiwara met inline skating. After improving, she became active as a dance performer, while also learning various skills by watching videos on the internet, and has been active in national competitions for freestyle and classic skating. Currently, she is practicing the highest difficulty trick called "Two Christie." Additionally, she spares no effort in taking ballet lessons to enhance her sense of balance needed for inline skating and learning English for overseas expeditions.
In the fiscal year 2018, a higher-level world championship is scheduled to take place than the Shanghai Slalom Open. First, I am looking forward to securing a spot to compete, and I am very excited to see Mr. Ogihara shine on the world stage.
Mr. Ogihara's activities are being broadcasted on the "Inline Skating Challenge" website.
