After-School Childcare Program

I saw on the web that only three third graders can enroll in this year's First After-School Childcare Program.
Recently, the number of houses around Inagi Dai 1 Elementary School has increased. Since there is still land development happening, I believe the population will continue to grow. Please increase the capacity of the nearby After-School Childcare Program, such as the one at Yanokuchi. It seems strange that, despite parents having the same work conditions, there are deductions or additions based on the grade level. I would like to see the After-School Childcare Program available regardless of grade level.

Response

We recognize that enrolling in the desired After-School Childcare Program and supporting the balance between Parent or Guardian work and Parenting, as well as the necessary development of children, is important for the city. However, expanding facilities and capacity is not easy, so since April 2014, Inagi City has implemented the "After-School Children's Program" to ensure that children can safely spend their time after school within the elementary school. We have established three programs: the "After-School Childcare Program," "Children's Center," and "After-School Children's Program" as places for children after school. Please also consider other facilities that serve as after-school places.
In addition, regarding the admission screening for the After-School Childcare Program, we prioritize those who have a high need for development. At the developmental stage of children, the After-School Childcare Program is at a transition period from early childhood to childhood, so it is determined that younger children have a higher need for development compared to older children, and as they move to lower grades, the index is raised accordingly.
The city will continue to strive to enhance various programs and create a safe and secure after-school environment for all children.
