About Graduation Albums of Elementary and Junior High Schools in the City

In recent years, the misuse of generative AI to create sexually manipulated images and videos of real children and women, so-called "sexual deepfakes," has become a problem.
Minors, recently including junior high and elementary school students, have often become targets and suffered harm in many cases.
There are also sites where photos from graduation albums have been misused, with edited photos and names being posted.

As a preventive measure against such damages, there are cases where graduation albums are made with consideration for personal information protection, such as using only photos without matching individuals to their names.

As Inagi City, we also hope that the above measures will be adopted.
We kindly ask for your consideration to protect the children for the future.

According to confirmation with the Board of Education, at the municipal Elementary and Junior High Schools, currently, when distributing graduation albums, guidance is provided to students and their parents or guardians on the appropriate handling of personal information.
However, considering the recent social situation and your comments, we have instructed to discuss and review the approach to the graduation album.
