About the Future of the Council Public Relations Paper

For local governments with small financial scales, the use of videos for councils and other activities is essential. Nowadays, it is an era to learn about council activities through the web. How is it possible that the Regular Session's YouTube archive has not yet been created?
We would also like efforts to be made for sign language explanations of council meetings and subtitle displays of meeting minutes. The presence of citizens with disabilities must also be taken into account in an inclusive council.

Response

The City Council is an independent body from the Mayor's office, and since this "Opinion/Suggestion" was a request to the City Council, we will convey the response from the City Council as follows.

Thank you for continuously reading the Inagi City Council Newsletter.
The Inagi City Council does not utilize video distribution sites such as YouTube, but as a use of video, live streaming of meetings and committees during the Regular Session is conducted on the Inagi City Council Video Search System within the Inagi City Council website. As an archive function, on-demand distribution (recorded streaming) is provided a few days later through the same system on the City Council website.
There are no subtitles displaying the spoken content in the video, but the minutes can be viewed at city libraries, the City Hall information disclosure corner, the council library, and other locations. The same system on the City Council website also offers minutes search functionality, so please make use of that as well.
In addition, for those with hearing impairments, it is possible to attend the council chamber by using the Sign Language Interpreter Dispatch Service provided by the Inagi City Social Welfare Council. To use this service, reservations are accepted in advance via the inquiry email form or fax of the Inagi City Council Secretariat on the city council website.
We will devise public relations methods to make council information easier to understand for people with disabilities, while studying examples from other municipal councils, and work on creating easy-to-understand layouts for the city council newsletter and effective information dissemination on the city council website.
