Temporary Care for 0-Year-Old Children
I would like the issue of not being able to use temporary childcare until the child turns one year old to be improved. It is possible to use it at certified Nursery Schools, but the fees are not affordable for casual use. There are almost no places in neighboring cities where it cannot be used until the child is one year old, and other cities also have lower fees. Although city council members have asked about this repeatedly, considering that most mothers are busy taking care of their newborns and have little time to voice their opinions to the city, I hope this will be positively considered.
Response
Regarding the temporary childcare service at Licensed Childcare Centers, since mixed-age childcare is conducted in limited childcare rooms, when accepting infants aged 0, it is necessary to secure a separate childcare room and childcare staff for 0-year-olds from the perspective of ensuring safety.
Accepting infants aged 0, who require more safety considerations compared to other age groups, is difficult to implement due to the current shortage of childcare rooms and childcare workers at Licensed Childcare Centers.
The city will monitor the national "Childcare for All" system, which is expected to provide care for infants from six months old, and will also consider the future direction of temporary childcare services accordingly.
In addition, as another service, the Family Support Center can accept children from 4 months old, depending on availability, so please consider using that service as well.
