Postpartum Care
Postpartum care is limited to the use of Inada Maternity Clinic and the City Hospital, so I would like to be able to choose from a wider range of medical institutions. I wanted to use it while my husband was on a business trip abroad, and when I called Inada Maternity Clinic before giving birth, I was told, "We do not recommend use if the older child stays overnight together." In addition to the fact that it is realistically difficult for only a limited number of people to use it, there are no options, so I am using postpartum care at Berie no Oka Clinic at my own expense. If the city's postpartum care were better organized, I think I could have spent the postpartum period with a little more peace of mind.
Response
The city is working with other medical institutions to increase the options available to users of postpartum care services; however, due to incompatible conditions, there are currently only two facilities available for use.
Additionally, regarding Inada Maternity Clinic, it is possible for mothers, children, and older siblings to use the facility. However, since the clinic does not have childcare staff, if family members such as spouses or grandparents are not present in the same room, the mother will need to care for the older siblings, which may result in insufficient care. Therefore, Inada Maternity Clinic does not actively recommend use by only mothers, children, and older siblings.
The city will continue to strive to make services more accessible for mothers in need of care. Additionally, starting from June 2025, the City Hospital has newly launched day-care postpartum care services. We would appreciate it if you could consider using these services when the opportunity arises.
