Chairman and Vice Chairman

The chairperson represents the assembly, maintains order in the chamber, organizes proceedings, and handles various administrative tasks of the assembly, holding a very important role. The vice-chairperson performs the duties of the chairperson in their absence, such as during business trips or when they are otherwise unavailable.

Chairman Kenichi Kitahama

On May 15, 2023, Kenichi Kitahama was elected as the 35th Speaker and assumed office on the same day.
Chairman Kitahama is currently in his 6th term and belongs to the Toushikai faction.

Vice Chairman Takefumi Sakata

On May 15, 2023, Takefumi Sakata was elected as the 36th Vice Chairman and assumed office on the same day.
Vice Chairman Sakata is currently in his fourth term and belongs to the Shinseikai faction.
