The Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games road cycling race was held on July 24 and 25, 2021. Road racers from around the world gathered, with 126 male athletes starting on the 24th and 67 female athletes on the 25th, all aiming from the starting point at Musashino Forest Park to the finish line at Fuji Speedway (Shizuoka Prefecture).
On both days, the official race started from the Kosei Bridge, passing through Inagi City. Approximately 300 citizen volunteers, known as course supporters, managed the race operations such as course setup and traffic guidance along the approximately 6.9 km course in Inagi City, supporting the intense competition of the athletes running through the city.
In addition, the Inagi Central Park Comprehensive Gymnasium hosted the "Tokyo 2020 Community Live Site in Inagi," where Inagi City fully broadcasted the bicycle road racing events. Throughout the day, many people had the opportunity to watch and experience the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games through competition experiences and stage performances.
