On July 21, 2019 (Sunday), a test event for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games cycling (road) called "READY STEADY TOKYO - Cycling (Road)" was held.
A total of 96 athletes from around the world participated in this tournament, showcasing thrilling races.
The results showed that Italian athletes took the 1st and 2nd places, making it a tournament where the Italian team demonstrated their strength.

Additionally, this time the event was held on a course that excluded some sections of the actual course, but it left a strong impression that it is a very challenging course, with only about half of the participants, 49 people, finishing.
In the actual event in 2020, the total distance will be approximately 244 km, which is about 55 km longer, and it is said to be the most challenging course in Olympic history.
It is noteworthy how the world's top athletes, who could not participate in the test event due to a scheduling conflict with the Tour de France, will tackle this challenging course in 2020.
