Tama New Town Area
Tama New Town was designated as an urban planning project in 1965, and the project was completed in March 2006, approximately 40 years later. The project area in Inagi City covers about 292 hectares and consists of three residential areas: Koyodai, Nagamine, and Wakabadai, under the "Fine Hill Inagi" initiative. This was based on a land use plan that inherited the city's community development vision, with a planned population of 29,000. The project began after obtaining approval for the Inagi District in 1971, with the Koyodai District opening in 1988, the Nagamine District in 1995, and the Wakabadai District in 1999.
The project was completed in 2006, and we are currently working in collaboration with UR Urban Development Corporation to systematically dispose of the unused land remaining in the area.
Community Development in Koyodai
The diverse terrain of the Tama Hills gave birth to this beautiful town. Koyodai is one of the first areas to open up in the Tama New Town Inagi area. As such, the landscape of the town, the street trees that adorn the roads, and the greenery of the hedges all convey a sense of calm and stability.
What characterizes this town is the urban landscape born from the hilly terrain. The beauty created by residential areas of varying heights—high, medium, and low—set against the backdrop of hills, is evidenced by its receipt of the "Urban Landscape Award" in the 7th year of the Heisei era.
Nagamine Community Development
Nagamine, which was born in the center of the Tama New Town Inagi area, has "creating living spaces in greenery" as its basic theme. This town, which gracefully spreads within a natural space and has Inagi Central Park within the area, offers a resort-like feeling in daily life. Surrounded by abundant nature and rich sunlight, people enjoy sports, touch the earth and greenery, and leisurely enjoy their lives... Nagamine, where ecological and green spaces are always felt, can truly be called a people-friendly wellness town.
Community Development in Wakabadai
Wakabadai is the newest town that opened in the spring of 1999 within "Fine Hill Inagi." As it is said to be the last station-front development in Tama New Town, a vibrant town with a gentle southern slope as its backdrop unfolds right before your eyes when viewed from the station front.
The station front transportation square serves as a landmark for Wakabadai and the gateway to the town. Within the transportation square, there are bus and taxi stops connecting the station to the residential area. Additionally, Wakabadai Station and the station front transportation square are connected by escalators and elevators, designed to be accessible for people of all generations.
