When Involved in a Traffic Accident

Please notify the police and also make sure to submit a Notification to the City Hall.
In principle, when involved in a traffic accident, the perpetrator is responsible for covering all medical expenses. However, if treatment is received under the Late-Stage Elderly Medical Care system, the regional union will temporarily cover the costs and will bill the perpetrator.
Please be aware that if you settle the dispute, you may no longer be able to receive medical care under the Late-Stage Elderly Medical Care system.
