About Fureai Forest

Q1: What kind of facility is it?

Inagi Fureai Forest is a Sound Youth Development facility. It is an outdoor facility (free of charge) used by local elementary schools and youth development district committees as a place for educational activities and nature experiences.
Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays from mid-March to June, August, and from October to November are open to the public and available for use by Inagi City residents. Overnight stays are only permitted when local elementary schools or youth development district committees use the facilities for educational activities or nature experiences during district or school open periods. Overnight stays are not allowed for the general public.

Q2: Can I have a barbecue?

There are stoves for cooking rice in a mess tin as part of educational activities, but they are not suitable for barbecues. We recommend bringing your own barbecue set.
We lend out tools such as plates, pots, knives, and cutting boards. Please prepare your own ingredients, fuel (firewood or charcoal), and drinking water (boiling is required for the facility's tap water).
However, bringing in and consuming alcoholic beverages is prohibited.

Q3: I would like to use the Fureai Forest.

During the general open period, anyone can use the facilities on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays, regardless of whether they are from inside or outside the city.
However, if you wish to use the facility with a group of 10 or more people, please check in advance whether your desired date and time are available (contact the Children and Youth Division by phone), and apply using the reservation form below at least one week in advance. The total number of users for all groups combined is limited to 50 people.

Q4: Can I stay overnight?

General public cannot stay overnight.
It is only possible when used by elementary schools in the city or youth development district committees for educational activities and nature experiences during district and school open periods.

Q5: I heard that the entrance has changed.

Since December 2014, due to construction on the metropolitan road, the entrance on the Wakaba General High School side has been closed. Please use the entrance on the Odara Street side.
Note: The Tama 3, 4, and 17 Sakahama-Hirao Line is now open, but for safety management within the facility, please continue to use the entrance on the Odara Street side.

For more details, please see the access information for Inagi Fureai Forest.

Q6: Is it okay to bring tents?

For safety management, please refrain from bringing tents, tarps, hammocks, and other similar items.

Q7: Is there a parking lot?

There are parking spaces for 20 cars, but during busy periods, it may be full, so please follow the instructions of the manager in that case.

Q8: How many stoves are there?

There are 15 locations. Reservations are not accepted, so please use the stove designated by the manager in order of arrival.
Caution: The stove (made of concrete blocks) will crack if water is poured on it, so please do not pour water on it under any circumstances.

Q9: Since multiple families (2-3 families) will be using it, it will exceed 10 people. Is it necessary to submit an application form?

On the day of the event, if you can register on-site for each family, the application form will not be necessary.

Q10: Can the pizza oven be used?

Personal use is not permitted. If you wish to use it as a group, please inform the Children and Youth Division in advance.

Q11: Are there playground equipment such as athletic facilities?

There is none.
