Landslide Warning Areas and Special Landslide Warning Areas

On March 15, 2019, Tokyo designated the Landslide Hazard Areas and Special Landslide Hazard Areas in Inagi City.

• Landslide Hazard Area (commonly known as: Yellow Zone)
  Areas recognized as having a risk of harm to the lives or bodies of residents in the event of a landslide disaster, where a warning and evacuation system should be particularly established to prevent landslide disasters.
• Special Warning Area for Landslides (commonly known as: Red Zone)
  Areas recognized as having a risk of significant harm to the lives or bodies of residents due to damage to buildings in the event of a landslide disaster.

Number of Areas in Special Landslide Disaster Warning Zone (as of October 18, 2024)

• Landslide Hazard Areas: 278 locations (273 locations of steep slope collapses, 5 locations of debris flows)
• Special Warning Areas for Landslides: 218 locations (214 locations of steep slope collapses, 4 locations of debris flows)
