Fires caused by lithium-ion batteries in smartphones, tablets, mobile batteries, and other devices are increasing. In the year 2024, there have been three fires caused by lithium-ion batteries.

[Fire Incident Example]

A "bang" sound was heard from a mobile battery charging on a futon, and upon checking, a flame about 1 meter high was found rising from the charging mobile battery.

As a result of the investigation, it is believed that the lithium-ion battery internally short-circuited, causing it to heat up, expand, rupture, and catch fire.

 

Precautions When Using Lithium-ion Batteries

To prevent fires caused by lithium-ion batteries, please pay attention to the following points.

• Do not subject it to external shocks such as drops.
• Do not use if you notice any abnormalities such as "swelling," "noise," or "odor."
• Use the product included at the time of purchase or those specified by the manufacturer.
