Eligibility for Old Age Basic Pension
A payment period of more than 10 years of insurance premiums is required.
The Old Age Basic Pension can be received by those who have paid premiums for a total of 10 years or more, including months of premium exemption, when they reach the age of 65.
For information regarding the old-age Employees' Pension paid to those who have been enrolled in the Employees' Pension, please contact the Pension Office.
Those who have not paid insurance premiums for more than 10 years
If you have a total of more than 10 years of combined periods that are not included in the pension amount calculation (empty periods) and periods of premium payment, you can receive a pension. For more details, please contact the pension office.
Main Items of the Combined Target Period
- Period of enrollment in the Employees' Pension before March 1961
- Period during which the withdrawal allowance for the Employees' Pension was received from April 1961 to March 1986
- The period from April 1961 to March 1986 during which spouses of salaried workers and public servants could voluntarily join the National Pension but did not, for those aged 20 to under 60.
- The period of enrollment in the Employees' Pension after April 1961 (Category 2 insured persons) for those under 20 years old and over 60 years old
- From April 1961 to March 1986, the period during which spouses of salaried workers and public servants voluntarily joined the National Pension but did not pay premiums, for those aged 20 to under 60.
- Period of overseas residence after April 1961 (ages 20 to under 60)
- The period from April 1986 onwards, for those living overseas who voluntarily joined but did not pay premiums, aged between 20 and 60 years old
- The period from April 1986 to March 1991 when I was a student aged between 20 and 59
- Period after April 2000 during which the student payment special exception was received (period not repaid)
- Period during which the payment deferral system was received after April 2005 (period during which payment was not made)
