What is "Advocacy"?
In English advocacy, it is translated as "rights protection," "support activities," and "advocacy activities" in Japanese.
The City Hospital Advocacy Consultation Room is a consultation desk for patients and their families using the City Hospital, addressing opinions, requests, and complaints, with the aim of early resolution while advocating for their rights and interests. It has been open since May 11, 2004.
Consultations are held every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 9 AM to noon.

Purpose of Introducing the Advocacy System
In medical settings, patients and their families are generally in a vulnerable position, and many find it difficult to express their dissatisfaction or concerns to the hospital. This often leads to distrust and dissatisfaction with the hospital.
As a way to improve such distrust and dissatisfaction, we have established a consultation office independent from the hospital to facilitate early resolution, believing that this will further enhance the trust relationship between patients and the hospital. Therefore, we have introduced this system.
What is an Advocacy Consultant?
Advocacy counselors are individuals with extensive medical experience, appointed by the mayor as counselors who primarily promote this system.
Specifically, we act in a position to protect the rights and interests of patients, including responding from consultation to resolution and reporting and providing opinions to the Advocacy Review Board.
What is the Advocacy Review Committee?
The Advocacy Review Committee is an independent body that receives reports from the Advocacy Officer, conducts reviews of issues that have been submitted for examination in a fair and neutral manner, and makes recommendations to the Mayor based on the results. It is composed of four review committee members appointed by the Mayor.
