[Held] World Children's Future Conference Supporting the United Nations in INAGI

The "World Children's Future Conference Supporting the United Nations in INAGI" was held (August 30, 2024)

On August 30, 2024 (Friday), we held the "World Children's Future Conference Supporting the United Nations in INAGI."
This was the first event held in Inagi City, where a total of 24 representatives from sixth graders in elementary schools gathered, divided into 6 groups to discuss the theme of "A Future Inagi City Where People Can Continue to Live" and presented their ideas.
This meeting was divided into two parts: the first part was a workshop held in the Community Promotion Plaza 4th floor conference room, and the second part was a presentation conducted in the main conference hall with the cooperation of the Inagi City Council.
The group that won the Grand Prize at this meeting will be able to participate as representatives of Inagi City in the "5th World Children's Future Conference Supporting the United Nations" scheduled to be held in Tokyo in March of Reiwa 7, and in the "World Children's Future Conference Supporting the United Nations FUTURE SUMMIT" to be held in August at the Osaka-Kansai Expo.

Part 1 Workshop Overview

In the first part of the workshop, we introduced ourselves using "Heart Picnic" and "Our Well-Being Cards" to deepen communication. After that, we had a discussion about "A Future Inagi City Where We Can Continue to Live," where we thought about specific ideas and actions that each of us can take, and created presentation boards for the second part.

The state of the second part presentation

In the second part of the presentation, each group presented their proposals, responded to questions from the judges and other groups' children, and the judges scored them to determine the best award. During the judging, we received a lecture from Mr. Yumeito Ito, a former diplomat and Senior Advisor of the Sustainability Promotion Unit at Avex Inc.
The group that won the Grand Prize was awarded a certificate of commendation by Mayor Takahashi.
