1. Installation of security lights on private roads

If you wish to install a new security light on a private road that does not have one, please consult in advance.
We will confirm the installation requirements for the applicable private roads in the city, and if they are met, we will provide guidance on how to prepare the Application Form.

2. Installation Requirements

Private roads that meet all of the following requirements are eligible for the installation of security lights.

• The road must be at least 2.7 meters wide.
• In principle, the starting point and the endpoint must be adjacent to a city road or a road managed by the mayor.
• In the case of a bag road, the starting point must connect to a city road or a road managed by the mayor, and the depth must be 20 meters or more.
• The number of eligible establishments must be five or more.
• All residents adjacent to the planned installation location of the security light have agreed to the installation.
• If there are no Tokyo Electric Power Company poles or NTT poles at the planned installation site for the security light, the landowner (land rights holder) must agree to use the land for the installation of a standalone pole free of charge.

In addition to the items listed above, those that are deemed necessary for crime prevention as requested by the police station and those recognized by the city as having high public interest will be subject to installation.
However, the city will not install security lights on private roads that have been constructed for less than 5 years or on private roads that are under dispute.
