This initiative aims to further promote fire prevention awareness as we approach the time of year when fires are more likely to occur, thereby preventing the occurrence of fires, reducing the number of fatalities, particularly among Older Adults, and protecting precious lives and valuable property from loss.
10 Points to Protect Your Life from Residential Fires
Four Habits
- Absolutely do not smoke in bed, and do not allow it
- Do not place flammable items around the stove
- Do not leave the fire unattended when using the stove
- Clean the outlet of dust and unplug unnecessary plugs
Six Measures
- To prevent the occurrence of fires, use appliances such as stoves and burners that are equipped with safety devices.
- To ensure early detection of fires, regularly check residential smoke alarms and replace them approximately every 10 years.
- To prevent the spread of fire, keep the room organized and use flame-retardant bedding, clothing, and curtains.
- Install fire extinguishers and other equipment to extinguish fires while they are small, and confirm how to use them.
- Elderly people and those with physical disabilities should always secure and prepare evacuation routes and methods.
