Overview of Raccoon and Masked Palm Civet Capture and Extermination (New Project for FY2026)

The city installs traps in places such as your home garden to capture and exterminate raccoons and masked palm civets in order to prevent damage to ecosystems and living environments.
The installation and collection of traps will be carried out by contractors commissioned by the city.

  • Due to budget constraints, there is a limit to the number of cases the city can handle.
  • If requests become concentrated, you may be asked to wait.

Flow of setting up and collecting traps

  1. Request to the city for raccoon and masked palm civet capture and extermination (submission of raccoon and masked palm civet control request form)
  2. The city requests Business Operators to set up traps
  3. The contractor will contact the requester directly, so please coordinate the schedule.
  4. The contractor will install the trap.
  5. If an animal is captured, please contact the contractor directly even if two weeks have not passed.
  6. After scheduling, the contractor will come to collect the trap.
  • Please take care of checking the traps, preparing and replacing the bait, etc., as the requester.
  • The trap installation period is basically two weeks. Even if no animals are captured, please be sure to contact us after two weeks have passed.
  • When installing traps in common areas of apartment complexes, please post notices to prohibit entry or to warn against touching the traps, and display emergency contact information.
