Inagi City Landscape Color Guidelines
Background (The circumstances leading up to the creation of the Inagi City Landscape Color Guidelines)
Characteristics of Inagi City and Past Initiatives
The characteristics of Inagi City include a rich natural environment with the lush Tama Hills and rivers such as the Tama River and Misawa River, while community development is being promoted in areas like Tama New Town and through the Land Readjustment Project, resulting in a cohesive streetscape with unique features in each region.
In Inagi City, leveraging this natural environment, we formulated the "Inagi City Landscape Basic Plan" in March 1998, with the concept of "A beautiful urban landscape where the seasons thrive," to preserve and create a good townscape through Community Development. Since then, based on this plan, we have promoted various landscape-related measures from different perspectives, such as the undergrounding of utility lines, the formation of a "beautiful townscape" utilizing the District Plan system, and the designation of conservation green spaces, striving for the formation of a good landscape.
Recent Situation
In recent years, with the enforcement of the Landscape Act in 2004 and issues related to the colors of buildings causing disputes among neighboring residents in other cities, the interest of residents in urban landscapes has been increasing year by year.
For this reason, since the fiscal year 2010, the city has begun the process of formulating the "Inagi City Landscape Color Guidelines" as a standard for the colors of buildings to maintain and preserve the townscape and landscape within the city.
Regarding the Implementation of the Inagi City Landscape Color Guidelines
The "Inagi City Landscape Color Guidelines" were formulated based on the results of the current survey of buildings in the city, discussions and recommendations from the Landscape Creation Conference, and the content of public comments (opinion solicitation) from May 23, 2011, to June 23, 2011, and have been in effect since October 1, 2011.
We encourage citizens and business operators to make use of this when constructing new buildings, rebuilding, or repainting walls.

Notification
Within the District Plan Area
A notification of the District Plan is required to the city.
Please attach elevation drawings that include the Munsell values of the colors used for the exterior walls and roof to the District Plan notification documents.
Note: Please check the following page for information about the District Plan.
Outside District Plan Area
Although there are no notifications to the city, we ask for your cooperation in referring to this guideline to avoid using "highly saturated and prominent colors" so as not to create a sense of incongruity with the rich natural landscape surrounding the entire city, in order to form a "beautiful urban landscape that breathes with the seasons" characteristic of Inagi.
