Introduction of the Association

During a meeting of the Omaru Women's Tea Ceremony Circle, there was a discussion that "recently, wildflowers for tea arrangements have become scarce." At that time, the development of Tama New Town was also approaching in this area, so the 25 people who gathered said, "We cannot let this continue. We must protect the wildflowers." Since most of them did not know the names of the familiar wildflowers, they started by learning the names, created a wildflower garden, painted old materials received from a carpenter, and attached name tags. Additionally, they visited various natural habitats and wildflower gardens, and as they continued to study with invited instructors, they became captivated by the charm of wildflowers, leading to the official establishment of the "Omaru Wildflower Association" in April of Showa 57, two years later.
We have participated in various events, showcasing and selling potted wild plants, offering tempura made from wild plants, and providing tastings of wild plant tea, fostering交流 with visitors about the importance of the environment in which wild plants grow. In 1991, we received the Minister of Construction Award, and in 1994, we received the Prime Minister's Award.
In 1991, the wildflowers were replanted at Shiroyama Park in Inagi City, and now over 150 species delight us with their lovely appearance throughout the seasons.
In 2002, we registered for the adoption system and have been managing and cleaning the Shiroyama Park Wildflower Garden, as well as performing flower replanting and cleaning in the planting area along City Road No. 436.
We will continue to strive to be a place of relaxation for everyone, so that you can enjoy it.
