The group vaccination scheduled for April 23, 2025 (Wednesday) has been canceled due to rain.

The rabies vaccination group injection scheduled for April 23, 2025 (Wednesday) has been canceled due to rain as of 8:00 AM.

The group vaccination is scheduled for the next time on Thursday, April 24, 2025, and Sunday, April 27, 2025, but will be canceled in case of rain.

At the following animal hospitals that are part of the Inagi branch of the Tokyo Veterinary Medical Association, vaccinations can be received at the same price as group vaccinations. (Cost = vaccination fee 3,200 yen + issuance fee for vaccination certificate 550 yen = total 3,750 yen)

If you receive a rabies vaccination at an animal hospital other than the ones listed above, please obtain the rabies vaccination certificate from the animal hospital and receive the rabies vaccination completion certificate at the Health Center or the Hirao/Wakabadai Branch Office. A fee of 550 yen will be charged for the issuance of the rabies vaccination completion certificate.

When keeping a dog, the following procedures are required by the Rabies Prevention Law.

 

1 Registration of Pet Dogs (New Issuance and Reissuance of Dog Tags)

Dog owners must register their dogs within 30 days of starting to keep them.
Additionally, those who have started keeping a dog under 90 days old must register the dog within 30 days from the day the dog turns 90 days old.
Please attach the dog registration tag issued at the time of registration to your dog. It serves as proof of registration and also functions as a lost pet tag.

Registration fee (per head) from June 1, 2022

In case of microchip installation

No registration procedure is required for the city (application is necessary at a designated registration agency, and additional application fees will apply.)

In the absence of microchip installation

2 Rabies Vaccination and Issuance of Vaccination Certificate (Once a year)

Dog owners must have their pet dogs vaccinated against rabies every year and must attach the vaccination tag for the current year to the dog.

Vaccination Period

From April 1 to June 30 every year

According to the Rabies Prevention Law, the vaccination period is set from April 1 to June 30. Please coordinate with your veterinarian to ensure that the vaccination can be administered during this period.

After receiving the rabies vaccination, please bring the "Rabies Vaccination Certificate" issued by a veterinarian to the Health Center or the Hirao/Wakabadai Branch Office to receive the "Vaccination Completion Certificate." The certificate will be issued for the year in which the vaccination was received. However, if the vaccination was received between March 2 and March 31, the certificate for the following year will be issued.

About the Rabies Prevention Group Vaccination for Fiscal Year 7

Inagi City conducts rabies prevention vaccination clinics in various districts every April.

If it starts to rain after 8 AM on the day, it will be canceled. If canceled, it will not resume even if the weather improves.

When receiving rabies vaccination at an animal hospital

Rabies vaccination can also be administered at animal hospitals.
However, the issuance of the vaccination certificate varies by veterinary clinic.

If you receive an injection at the animal hospitals that are members of the Inagi Branch of the Tokyo Veterinary Medical Association, you can also receive the rabies vaccination certificate and the pet evacuation health booklet at the same time.

Please prepare the rabies vaccination certificate issued by the animal hospital and the vaccination fee of 550 yen.

Vaccination Precautions

  1. Please bring your dog clean and held securely by someone.
  2. Please ensure that the collar is secure, and if it is loose, tighten it.
  3. If a veterinarian at an animal hospital recognizes that a dog cannot receive vaccinations due to illness, a "Rabies Vaccination Exemption Certificate" will be issued, so please notify the Inagi City Health Center.
  4. On the day of the vaccination, please check your dog's health condition. If there are any of the following conditions, please inform the veterinarian before receiving the vaccination.
  • No energy or appetite.
  • There is diarrhea and vomiting.
  • There are abnormalities in coughing and breathing.
  • I am pregnant.
  • Currently undergoing treatment for an illness, receiving outpatient care and medication.
  • I have had a seizure.
  • Abnormalities occurred after the vaccination previously.
  • Received a vaccination within one month.
  • Recently, I bit someone.
  • Other cases that seem abnormal.
