PrintPrint in large text

Since payment confirmation can be made at light vehicle inspection associations nationwide through Kei JNKS, presenting the "Tax Payment Certificate" at the continued inspection counter is generally not required when undergoing a light vehicle inspection.
Note: From April of Reiwa 7 (2025), small motorcycles (over 250cc displacement) are also included.

In the following cases, a "paper tax payment certificate" may still be required as before.

  • Due to the immediate payment, if the payment information is not registered in the Light JNKS (it takes about 1 to 2 weeks to confirm the payment information)
  • If there are any past unpaid amounts for the target vehicle
  • Immediately after a name change (such as when purchasing a used car)
  • Immediately after moving in from another city or town
