More than 50% of the buildings owned by the city are said to be over 30 years old, which is when rapid deterioration is expected to occur. Significant degradation, such as leaks due to the deterioration of exterior walls and roof waterproofing, has been observed, leading to situations where repairs are necessary without waiting for large-scale renovation work. In 10 years, approximately 80% of the city-owned buildings will be over 30 years old, and an increase in large-scale repairs and updates to equipment is anticipated. Therefore, appropriate measures to address the aging of city-owned buildings are required.
Therefore, in order to ensure that existing municipal buildings can be used safely and securely, we have developed a maintenance and preservation plan for all municipal buildings that consolidates the costs associated with future renovations and repairs, taking into account the individual deterioration status of each municipal building, so that efficient and effective repairs and renovations can be carried out.
