Mr. Takagi (1st year, Inagi Dai 4 Junior High School) and Ms. Takamatsu (6th year, Nagamine Elementary School) are members of the cheer dance team "M・rettes JADE (abbreviation)" based in Chofu City, which participated in the cheer dance world championship "2019 The Dance Summit Championship" held in Florida, USA (May 4-5, 2019), and won first place in the Small Youth Pom category for ages 14 and under.
This tournament featured excellent teams recommended from around the world. M.rettes JADE achieved outstanding results at the tournament "JAMfest Vol 13" held in Japan and has been recommended to participate in the world championship.

During the competition, the team came together and was able to finish their performance in a very positive atmosphere. Before the performance, the team decided to shout together and take deep breaths, and by practicing this, it seems that the team united as one, which was the key to their success. "I was nervous when I stood on stage, but after shouting and taking deep breaths, I calmed down (Takagi)" "Being relaxed allowed me to enjoy it, and I was able to execute my skills well (Takamatsu)" they cheerfully shared. Additionally, both of them are very flexible and excel at jumping, and their jumping skills were recognized in the competition.

Usually, we have cheer dance lessons twice a week, ballet dance lessons once a month, and other individual practice sessions. We asked the two of them about their future goals. "Currently, I have graduated from M・rettes JADE and am part of a new team, but I want to aim for competitions in America with that team and further refine my skills (Takagi)." "I want to be able to perform acrobatic skills like the overseas athletes I saw at the competitions, and since competitions will continue from autumn, I want to win each one (Takamatsu)," they shared their aspirations for reaching even higher levels.
The two who are active in the world will continue to take on challenges in the future. Let's support them!
