School Characteristics
This is the fourth school in the Tama New Town Inagi area. The warm two-story school building makes abundant use of imported bricks and wood, and the clock tower with a triangular roof is its symbol.
The interior features various design elements such as open-space classrooms, small rooms within each classroom, a courtyard and wooden decks around the classrooms, ceilings of different heights, lamp-shaped lighting, and a multi-purpose hall with an atrium.
Until fiscal year 2001, joint sports days and music concerts with the adjacent Inagi Dai 6 Junior High School and elementary and junior high schools were held, but now that the number of students has increased, the focus is on curriculum continuity.
In fiscal years 2003 and 2004, the school was designated as a city education research encouragement school, and in fiscal years 2005, 2006, and 2007, it was designated as an education issue promotion school. Under the theme "Fostering children with rich hearts full of the spirit of coexistence through activities familiarizing them with English," research has been progressing.
