About Stomach Cancer Screening
For the purpose of early detection and early treatment of stomach cancer, we conduct stomach cancer screening using gastroscopy for citizens aged 50 and over.
Flow of Medical Examination

Eligible Individuals
Citizens aged 50 and over (born on or before April 1, 1977)
Notice: The following individuals cannot undergo the examination. Please follow the instructions of the implementing medical institution regarding the decision to receive the health checkup.
- Those who have not submitted the consent form related to this health checkup (enclosed with the examination ticket at the time of mailing)
- Pregnant Individuals
- Individuals who are hospitalized regardless of the type of disease
- Individuals undergoing treatment for gastric diseases such as peptic ulcers (including those undergoing Helicobacter pylori eradication)
- Individuals who have undergone total gastrectomy
- Individuals taking antithrombotic medication (Those taking antithrombotic medication may not be able to make a reservation. Please check with the medical institution)
- Individuals with diseases of the pharynx, nasal cavity, etc., who cannot undergo endoscope insertion (requests for "mouth" or "nose" insertion may not be accommodated.)
- Individuals with respiratory failure
- Individuals with heart diseases such as acute myocardial infarction or severe arrhythmia
- Individuals with a clear tendency to bleed or suspected bleeding tendency
- Those with extremely high systolic blood pressure (if undergoing hypertension treatment, blood pressure will be measured immediately before the examination to determine eligibility)
- Those judged to be in poor overall condition and unable to tolerate a gastroscopy
- Those who cannot follow the doctor's instructions due to cognitive decline or similar reasons
- Note: If your weight is 100kg or more, please contact us.
- Note: If you have any symptoms, please visit an outpatient clinic instead of undergoing a health checkup.
- Note: If you have a chronic illness and have a primary care physician, please consult them in advance about undergoing stomach cancer screening.

Application Deadline
The deadline is the 22nd of every month, and the examination tickets will be sent out in early the following month.

Note: It gets very crowded at the end of the year and fiscal year-end. We recommend early consultation.

Application Method
Please apply for the examination ticket at the Inagi City Health Center using one of the following methods: (1) (2) (3).
Applications start from Wednesday, April 1, 2026.

Write the title 'Application for Stomach Cancer Screening', fill out the following, and send it to the Inagi City Health Center.

Office Hours: Weekdays from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM (Closed on Saturdays, Sundays, holidays, and from December 29 to January 3)
Cost
Co-payment: 3,900 yen
Note: For those whose Health Insurance Card indicates a 10% co-payment rate, the amount is 1,300 yen; for those indicating 20%, the amount is 2,600 yen

Exemptions from Burden Fees
As of the date of examination, those who fall under any of the following (1) (2) (3) will be exempt from the co-payment. Please note that prior procedures are required.
- (1) Households receiving Public Assistance
- Please obtain a "Public Assistance Certificate" or "Support Benefit Certificate" in advance from the City Hall Livelihood Welfare Division and submit it at the reception on the day of the examination.
- (2) Former Japanese Residents in China
- Please obtain a "Public Assistance Certificate" or "Support Benefit Certificate" in advance from the City Hall Livelihood Welfare Division and submit it at the reception on the day of the examination.
- (3) Households Exempt from Municipal Resident Tax
- After applying for the examination ticket and receiving it, please bring the examination ticket and visit the Health Center to receive the "Exemption Certificate for Patient Burden Charges." Please submit the exemption certificate at the reception on the day of the examination.
Note: For those who have recently moved in and have not had a tax decision made in Inagi City, please obtain a "Non-Taxation Certificate" from the municipality you moved from and bring it to the Health Center. For more details, please contact the Health Center.
Note: Common Matters
- For each type of certificate, one is required for each type of cancer screening.
- The validity period of various certificates is within 6 months after issuance.
