About Breast Cancer Screening
Breast cancer is a type of cancer that can be treated if detected early. To ensure early detection, let's have regular check-ups every two years.
Flow of Medical Examination

Guidance
- In FY2026, for those who fall under the ages listed in the table below and have not undergone the Inagi City breast cancer screening since FY2025, the city will send a "recommendation postcard" or a "free coupon" as a substitute for the examination ticket required for the screening.
- Those who are applicable do not need to go through the application process for the examination ticket described below.

Eligible Individuals
Female citizens aged 40 and over (born on or before April 1, 1987) who have not undergone the examination since FY2025
Notice: The following individuals cannot undergo the examination. Please follow the instructions of the implementing medical institution regarding the decision to receive the health checkup.
- Those on the 3rd day of their period
- Individuals undergoing treatment or under observation at a medical institution after breast cancer surgery
- Individuals diagnosed with breast cancer who are currently receiving treatment or under observation at a medical institution
- Those who regularly receive breast examinations and medical consultations
- Pregnant Individuals
- For those who are breastfeeding (including within 3 months after weaning)
- Individuals who have difficulty standing on their own
- Those who have undergone breast augmentation and hydrocephalus shunt surgery
- Individuals with a cardiac pacemaker and similar devices
- Note: If you have any symptoms (such as chest pain or lumps), please visit an outpatient clinic instead of undergoing a health checkup.
- Note: If you have a chronic illness and have a primary care physician, please consult them in advance about receiving a breast cancer screening.
- Note: At the end of the fiscal year, reservations may be crowded, and there may be cases where you cannot receive a consultation.

- Mammography (Breast X-ray Examination)
Note: According to national guidelines, individuals in their 40s will have two-direction imaging, while those aged 50 and above will have one-direction imaging.
Application Deadline
The deadline is the 22nd of every month, and the examination tickets will be sent out in early the following month.
Note: The final application deadline is December 22, 2026

Application Method
Please apply for the examination ticket at the Inagi City Health Center using one of the following methods: (1) (2) (3).
Applications start on Wednesday, April 1, 2026.

Write the title 'Application for Breast Cancer Screening', fill out the following, and mail it to the Inagi City Health Center.

(3) Fill out the designated form at the Health Center counter
Office hours = Weekdays from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM (Closed on Saturdays, Sundays, holidays, and from December 29 to January 3)
Cost
Self-payment: 3,040 yen
Note: For those with a 10% share of the Health Insurance Card, the amount is 1,010 yen, and for those with a 20% share, it is 2,030 yen (presentation of My Number Health Insurance Card, etc. required)
Exemptions from Burden Fees
As of the date of the examination, those who fall under any of the following (1), (2), or (3) will be exempt from self-payment. Please note that prior procedures (starting June 3, 2026) are required.
- (1) Households receiving Public Assistance
- Please obtain a "Public Assistance Certificate" or "Support Benefit Certificate" in advance from the City Hall Livelihood Welfare Division and submit it at the reception on the day of the examination.
- (2) Former Japanese Residents in China
- Please obtain a "Public Assistance Certificate" or "Support Benefit Certificate" in advance from the City Hall Livelihood Welfare Division and submit it at the reception on the day of the examination.
- (3) Households Exempt from Municipal Resident Tax
- After applying for the examination ticket and receiving it, please bring the examination ticket and visit the Health Center to receive the "Exemption Certificate for Patient Burden Charges." Please submit the exemption certificate at the reception on the day of the examination.
Note: For those who have recently moved in and have not had a tax decision made in Inagi City, please obtain a "Non-Taxation Certificate" from the municipality you moved from and bring it to the Health Center. For more details, please contact the Health Center.
Note: Common Matters
- For each type of certificate, one sheet is required for each type of cancer screening.
- The validity period of various certificates is within 6 months after issuance.
