Even if you are injured in a traffic accident, you can receive treatment under the National Health Insurance. However, the principle is that the perpetrator (third party) is responsible for covering all medical expenses unless the victim is at fault.
When you receive treatment under the National Health Insurance, the National Health Insurance will temporarily cover the costs, and later it will bill the perpetrator on behalf of the victim.

  1. Be sure to report to the police.
  2. Contact the National Health Insurance Section at City Hall (Phone: 042-378-2111, Extensions: 144, 145, 146).
  3. Submit the "Report of Injury or Illness Due to Third Party Actions" and other documents to the National Health Insurance Section at City Hall.
