Subsidies for the creation of hedges, removal of block walls, and installation of fences
Expanded the scope of subsidies
In Inagi City, we provide subsidies for a portion of the expenses necessary for the creation of hedges and the removal of block walls, in order to promote the improvement of the streetscape, the greening of areas adjacent to roads, and to prevent the occurrence of disasters.
Starting from the 7th year of Reiwa, the installation of fences and other structures associated with the removal of block walls will also be eligible for subsidies.

Subsidy for the Installation of Hedges
You will be eligible for the grant if you meet all of the following conditions.
- Those who install new hedges in the city (including those who remove existing block walls and convert them into hedges)
- The height of the hedgerow trees should generally be 80 centimeters or more.
- The total length of the hedge is more than 3 meters
- It is a fence facing evacuation routes and public land as specified in the Inagi City Disaster Prevention Plan.
Note: When installing a hedge alongside a net fence or similar structure, as a general rule, trees should be planted on the road side and their height should be greater than that of the net fence or similar structure. However, when installing a net fence or similar structure facing the road, it should have a structure with good visibility, and the trees planted should be taller than the net fence or similar structure at the time of planting.
Subsidy for the Removal of Block Walls and Similar Structures
You will be eligible for the grant if you meet all of the following conditions.
- It is a block wall, etc., to be removed within the city
- The height of block walls, etc. exceeds 1.2 meters
- The total length of block walls, etc. is 3 meters or more.
- It is a block wall facing evacuation routes and public land as specified in the Inagi City Regional Disaster Prevention Plan.
- It is a block wall or similar structure that may collapse during an earthquake, obstruct passage, or pose a danger to people.
Subsidy for the installation of fences and other structures associated with the removal of block walls, etc.
You will be eligible for the grant if you meet all of the following conditions.
- Fences and similar structures must be installed in accordance with the Building Standards Act and other relevant laws.
- It is a fence or similar structure installed within the area where the removed block wall, etc. was located.
Exemption from Subsidy
- Those conducted by the national government, local public entities, as well as public corporations and public enterprises
- Real estate agents and development business operators conduct as a business
- Other items deemed inappropriate by the mayor
Application Acceptance Deadline
Even if it is within the deadline, if the amount exceeds the budget, you may be asked to apply in the next fiscal year.

Time for Hedge Planting
It is appropriate to create a hedge during the transplanting season of seedlings.
- Spring is before the new buds appear (from March to April)… conifers, deciduous broadleaf trees
- Summer is the period when new buds are abundant during the rainy season (from June to July)... evergreen broadleaf trees
- In autumn, large saplings (from September to October)… conifers, deciduous broadleaf trees
