The Magokoro Scholarship is a program in which the Nippon Foundation provides scholarship grants to children from families who have become financially unstable due to crimes such as traffic accidents, fraud, injury, or murder.

Eligible for Benefits

Children from families that require scholarship assistance due to their Parent or Guardian (such as a father or mother) encountering unreasonable crimes and becoming economically unstable, who are currently enrolled in or planning to advance to high school, university, graduate school, junior college, vocational school (specialized courses and high school courses), or technical college.

Regular study period of the school you are enrolled in

Benefit Amount

  Monthly Admission Fee
Graduate School 50,000 yen 300,000 yen
Universities, junior colleges, colleges of technology (4 years or more), specialized training colleges 50,000 yen 300,000 yen
High schools, colleges of technology (3 years or less), specialized training colleges (advanced courses), special support schools (high school level)

National and Public 17,000 yen

Private 25,000 yen

50,000 yen

Review Period

It takes approximately 4 to 6 months from application to review and the start of benefits.
