About Electronic Certificates
The My Number Card can be equipped with two types of electronic certificates: signature electronic certificate and user identification electronic certificate.
The validity period of each electronic certificate is until the fifth birthday from the date of issue.
Note: The notation "Valid until ○○ year ○○ month ○○ day" (expiration date) indicated on the My Number Card shows the validity period of the My Number Card and does not indicate the validity period of the electronic certificate.

How to Issue and Renew Electronic Certificates

When changing, resetting, or unlocking the PIN for the electronic certificate
When you want to change the PIN of your electronic certificate, or if you have forgotten the PIN and need to reset it, or if your card has been locked, you need to go through the procedures at City Hall or a Branch Office.
For those moving abroad, the My Number Card requires procedures at a diplomatic mission or at your registered domicile.
