Hokkaido Ozora High School "Top 5 Things That Don't Exist"
1. There are no regular tests.
This is to help students develop a habit of studying daily by conducting unit tests during class.
2. No timetable (70% of third-year high school students choose elective subjects).
This is to "accommodate diverse career paths."
3. There is no fixed homeroom teacher system.
The reason for having two homeroom teachers is to avoid mismatches between teachers and students. With two homeroom teachers, at least one of them can serve as a counselor for the students.
4. There are no detailed school rules.
It is to consider "what kind of appearance is appropriate" according to the time, place, and occasion (TPO).
5. No history.
Since the school was established recently, there are no long-standing traditions. However, there is room to "create the school," and students take the lead in planning new projects, events, activities, and systems.
At Ozora High School, these are called the "Five Things That Don't Exist," but they all ultimately lead to "fostering independence."
Because there are no regular tests, you must learn on your own.
Because there is no timetable, you must think about your own path.
Because there is no history, we must create our own school and make daily enjoyment.
If you are even slightly interested, please be sure to attend the information session.
