Professor Course: "Intelligent Robots that Support People"

 Robots and AI technology are advancing rapidly, but robots that can perform various support tasks while effectively communicating with people have not yet been realized. This course will focus on daily support tasks and interactions with people, explaining the technologies needed to create robots that can think and perform tasks independently, as well as introducing the latest technologies and challenging issues that need to be addressed.

Content of Each Session
1st April 12 What is a robot?
This section explains what a robot is and how its operation can be realized by combining various technologies.
2nd May 10 Role of Robots
This section introduces the various types of robots, their development purposes, and the roles they play.
3rd June 14 Robots that support people's daily lives
What functions are required of robots that support people in home environments and restaurants? This will explain the challenges and the latest technologies, focusing on examples from robot competitions.
4th June 14 Interaction between Humans and Robots
This section focuses on the challenges that arise in situations where robots interact with people, introducing research cases and difficult problems to solve.
5th August 9 Utilization of VR Technology in Robot Research
Virtual reality (VR) technology is being utilized in the field of robotics for purposes such as improving the efficiency of data collection. This will introduce the key technologies and application examples.
6th September 13 Evaluate the interaction between humans and robots
We will explain the difficulties of evaluating interactions with people and solutions to these issues, incorporating research examples.

Each class is 90 minutes long.

On June 14, there will be two sessions held in one day.
