Notice Regarding the Quadrivalent Vaccine

Due to the introduction of the pentavalent vaccine as a routine vaccination starting April 1, 2024, the production and sale of the quadrivalent vaccine have been discontinued.

In routine vaccinations, the same type of vaccine is generally administered the required number of times; however, if there are unavoidable circumstances recognized that prevent following this standard method, it is possible to switch to vaccination with either the "trivalent vaccine (diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus) + inactivated polio vaccine" or the "pentavalent vaccine" after consulting and deciding with a medical institution. (Please check the examples of vaccination below.)

Please consult with the medical institution, as vaccine stock availability may vary depending on the facility.

  1. Administer one additional dose each of the combined triple vaccine and the inactivated polio vaccine
  2. One additional dose of the pentavalent vaccine

Regarding the Pre-vaccination Screening Form When Switching Vaccines

When switching from the four-component combined vaccine, it is necessary to replace the medical questionnaire with the one for the vaccine to be used (either the "three-component combined vaccine + inactivated polio vaccine" or the "five-component combined vaccine").

For more details, please contact the medical institution administering the vaccination or the Health Center (042-378-3421).
