About the Routine Vaccination of RS Virus (Maternal and Child Immunity Vaccine) Vaccination

From April 1, 2026, RS virus (maternal and child immunity vaccine) vaccination has become a routine vaccination.

Along with the introduction of routine vaccination, we have sent notifications and preliminary examination forms for the RS virus vaccination to pregnant women known to the city (such as those who have submitted a pregnancy notification to the city).

If you do not receive vaccination notifications due to moving in or other reasons, please contact the Parent and Child Comprehensive Support Center Section of Inagi City (042-378-3434).

For those who submit a pregnancy notification on or after April 1, 2026, the RS virus vaccination notification and pre-examination form will be enclosed in the "Mother and Child Health Bag" distributed at the time of pregnancy notification submission, so please check them.

What is RS Virus Infection?

An acute respiratory infection caused by RS virus, which is a common infection among infants and young children.

RS virus can infect repeatedly regardless of age, but the initial infection is said to be more likely to become severe. In particular, if infected within 6 months after birth, it can become severe, causing bronchiolitis or pneumonia. It is said that more than 50% of infants and young children are infected at least once by the age of 1, and almost 100% by the age of 2.

For Those Planning to Receive Vaccination Outside Inagi City, Such as at Their Hometown

When Receiving Vaccinations in Hachioji City, Machida City, Hino City, and Tama City

If it is a designated medical institution in Hachioji City, Machida City, Hino City, or Tama City, no prior application is required, and vaccination is possible.

Please note that at the time of vaccination, do not use the pre-examination form from Inagi City; instead, receive and use the pre-examination form provided by each medical institution.

You can check the designated medical institutions for each city from the link below.

Note: The announcement of designated medical institutions will be made by each city as soon as they are decided. (Updated as needed)

When receiving vaccination at medical institutions other than the above four cities

Prior application to the city (mandatory) is required before vaccination.

There are three application methods: electronic application, mail, and at the Health Center counter.

Applicants should check the link below and submit their application.

When receiving vaccination, it is necessary to bring the "Inagi City Vaccination Request Form" issued by the city after application to the medical institution.

Please note that it takes about two weeks to issue the "Vaccination Request Form of Inagi City."

In principle, applications are only accepted for vaccines to be administered in the current fiscal year; however, if the scheduled vaccination date is at the beginning of the fiscal year or similar, please contact the Health Division of Inagi City individually at (042-378-3421).
